Wilkins Automotive is expanding and has openings for Technicians/Mechanics of all skill levels. We currently have multiple positions available from Lube techs to fully certified line technicians.
Maryland State Inspectors and GM certified Techs are encouraged to apply. The positions are available in our established dealership setting as well as in our Express Lube facility that will be opening soon.
Automotive Technician-- General Motors Mechanic / Tech
If you are an experienced and reliable auto mechanic and you are looking for a new career with an established and respected organization, join the growing team of Wilkins Automotive. We are looking for an Automotive Maintenance Mechanic to work with our growing team of technicians.
You will provide repair services for a wide range of vehicles, with the goal of providing quality service and promoting customer satisfaction.
As an Automotive Mechanic, you will utilize your vehicle maintenance expertise and customer service skills to perform timely and efficient vehicle repair and maintenance work as assigned and in accordance with dealer and factory standards.
Your specific duties as an Automotive Technician / Mechanic will include:
- Performing work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards
- Diagnosing the cause of any malfunction and performing appropriate repairs
- Keeping your shop area neat and clean and keeping track of dealership tools at all times
- Ensuring that customer vehicles are kept clean
- Documenting work performed on repair order
- Maintaining and expanding technical expertise by continuously learning new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay abreast with rapidly changing automotive technology
- Performing other duties, as assigned
Job Requirements
Automotive Technician-- Mechanic / Tech
As an Automotive Mechanic, you must have a high degree of integrity and trustworthiness and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. You must also have strong mechanical and automotive repair skills, solid organizational skills and a high degree of attention to detail. It is also important that you have excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills as well as strong customer service abilities.
Specific qualifications for the Automotive Technician / Mechanic position include:
- At least 18 years of age
- Valid driver's license and deliver a good driving record.
- High school diploma OR GED, preferred
- Trade school preferred
- ASE certification, preferred
- Dealership or manufacturer certification, preferred
- Import experience and/or certification, preferred
